The 2023 New Music Jason Prize* Mid-Year Longlist (Amended)

*An imaginary award, celebrating my favourite Music of the Year

**Due to a gross omission on my part, I neglected to add an album that more than deserves to be on the list. Due to that, I have removed the ADJA EP, and replaced it with Big Blood’s album First Aid Kit.

As we’ve reached the mid-way point of the year (for those of us on the Gregorian calendar), it behooves us all to look back and see what the year has blessed us in New Music. There has been a lot of tremendous Music that has made its way to our ears, but I haven’t heard a clear-cut front runner for the Prize just yet.
