Upcoming New Releases (In The Name Of Love) – Week Ending Friday, October 6, 2023:

Oh boy, do we have a Release Week worth shouting about!

Your Holiday Shopping Starts Now!

Even with the outside chance of the new Drake album coming out (which it probably won’t), and an even smaller chance of a new Kanye album (which I hope doesn’t come out), there are a plethora of Grade-A Artists with new titles. Indie darling Sufjan Stevens is back with a new album. Rock saviours Paramore and Electronic legends Depeche Mode both have remix projects. Current buzzworthy Artist Slauson Malone 1 is releasing his debut album, and Kanye’s fellow antisemite Roger Waters continues to ride his past Pink Floyd glory. Of course, topping them all is the comeback story of all time, Rick Muthafuggin’ Astley.

Rick Astley – Never Gonna Stop

Other noteworthy and interesting Artists with wares to peddle this week include Taliesin, Darius Rucker, Kool Keith, Pitbull, Timber Timbre, and Keanu Reeves’ Dogstar.

Dogstar – Breach

With it being the first week of the month, the rent is due. Also it’s BandCamp Friday, so don’t forget to support your favourite artists. My Wishlist is crammed with nine titles awaiting adjudication. Chouk Bwa is a six piece from Haiti who has been collaborating with a Production duo from Belgium called The Ångströmers. Their second full-length Somanti is due Friday.

Chouk Bwa & The Ångströmers – Somanti

Feel free to come back to this very location on Friday (and every Friday) to share with me the fruits that the Music gods and goddesses have bestowed. It’s a fun thing that I do.

(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Upcoming New Releases – Week Ending Friday September 8, 2023:

All cylinders are firing this week in the world of New Music. If Drake doesn’t release his new album, we should have Olivia Rodrigo, Róisín Murphy, and Lil Peep leading the Pop Brigade.

Róisín Murphy – You Knew

Lots of stuff coming out this week that I can’t wait to hear, from a panoply of Artists, including Towa Tei, Courtney Barnett, The Chemical Brothers, Apollo Brown & Planet Asia, Alabaster Deplume and Devo.

The Chemical Brothers – Skipping Like A Stone (feat. Beck)

The BandCamp Wishlist is positively riddled with titles due for release this week. Ten titles in all, including this intriguing title from NYC Big Band Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society. The pre-release singles on Dynamic Maximum Tension embrace modern sonics and dissonance within Jazz parameters. I hope the rest of the record holds up.

Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society – Dymaxion

I’ll be back here on Friday with a full report of my findings. Make sure to bring a snack, it might be a big one!

Upcoming New Releases (Say So Much) – Week Ending Friday September 1, 2023:

Happy Tuesday, ye denizens of the Internet! I hope the weather has been as pleasant where I am as where you are. Autumn has sprung!

The New Releases on tap for this week harken the early rumblings of the big sales season for the Music Industry. Nicki Minaj is on-tap, and Drake could drop his record at any time. I’ve been waiting with bated yawns in anticipation to not recommend.

A leaked Drake song from the new album.

There are a fair number of new and mid-sized Artists releasing their wares on Friday. I’m curious to hear from Slowdive, Pretenders, Icona Pop and Jeff Rosenstock.

Icona Pop – Fall In Love

The Holding Zone that is my BandCamp Wishlist has nine titles due out this week. Today I’d like to profile a band out of Sheffield, UK called Pale Blue Eyes. They are releasing their sophomore album, This House, on September 1.

Pale Blue Eyes – More

Lest we forget! This Friday is BandCamp Fridaythe day when Artists receive 100% of their sales on the site, so it’s in your best interest to make it a priority. But only if it coincides with your own personal happiness! Take care, see you Friday!

Upcoming New Releases (Mama) – Week Ending Friday, August 25, 2023:

The (Literal) Offspring, Niagara Falls, August 20, 2023

The family had a lovely, if sweaty, visit to one of the natural wonders of the world, Niagara Falls. It was my daughter’s first trip to The Falls, and she was blown away. With temperatures hovering around the mid-30’s (nearly 100 Fahrenheit), our Outdoor Time was brief. We’ll have the come back in the winter to show Abby how amazing it looks at that time of year.

We have another reasonably good Release Week coming up. It looks like Drake will actually be releasing his new record this week, but even if he doesn’t, Lil Uzi Vert and Yeat will attempt to fill the gap.

Drake’s New Single

Some great Artists are putting out new titles this week, including Hiss Golden Messenger, SPELLLING, Open Mike Eagle, Hannah Georgas, and William Freaking Shatner.

Open Mike Eagle – WFLD 32

My BandCamp Wishlist is flush with eight titles awaiting release. Today I’ll spotlight a Chicago Hip-Hop duo, unheard of until now. Producer Kenautis Smith and MC Sense One are coming with their debut, Wonderful Ones. It’s sounding pretty pretty pretty pretty prety pretty…good. Yes sir.

Kenautis Smith x Sense – Photon Speed

Come on back on Friday now, y’hear? I’ll have your New Music picks hot and fresh, and automatic for the people! Take care!

Upcoming New Releases (Comes Bob-Bob-Bobbin’ Along) – Week Ending Friday, August 11, 2023:

Good Day to one and all, my friends and fronds! I’m happy to have had a few days of relaxation and calm.

It’s another quiet week for New Releases, with only one really big name putting out New Music. That name is Drake. But there’s no teaser single, so here is a dramatic scene of Aubry as Jimmy Brooks on the classic Canadian teen drama, Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Jimmy gets shot!

Artists I’m looking forward to hearing include Noname, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, The Hives, and Son Lux.

Noname – Rainforest

Ye Olde BandCamp Wishlist is sitting with four titles awaiting release this week. Today I’ll highlight Norway’s Les Imprimés and their debut album, Rêverie.

Les Imprimés – Love & Flowers

Don’t forget to check back on Friday for my Musical Findings! Tra La La!
